Center for Dynamics and Control of Materials
The Center hosts a variety of education and outreach initiatives that can be leveraged in research proposals, e.g., the K-5 Research Experiences for Teachers program, Research Experiences for Undergraduates program, First Year Undergraduate Research Program: FUSE, Industrial Mentorship program for Graduate Students, Artist in Residence program, afterschool STEM clubs at local schools, and K-12 STEM outreach to the Texas School for the Deaf and Texas School for the Blind.
Engineering Student Success
The Engineering Student Success Center provides special programming through workshops, student leadership opportunities and welcoming spaces that help all students have a wonderful experience to aid in positive educational outcomes.
Environmental Science Institute
The Environmental Science Institute (ESI) was founded as a multi-disciplinary institute for basic scientific research in environmental studies. The Institute serves as a focal point on campus for a wide scope of interdisciplinary research and teaching. ESI coordinates cross-departmental environmental science instruction; facilitates education and outreach in STEM fields; and disseminates advances in the area of enviromental science that are important locally and globally. ESI coordinates innovative educational outreach programs that work together to support awareness of science, technology, engineering and math, promost better communication of scientific research, and ultimately spark an interest in science and learning. Host Science - Cool Talks provides a front row seat to world-class research. Presented by ESI, this nationally recognized series allows leading researchers from UT and other prominent universities to share their passion about science, technology, engineering and math with the general public. Events are held six times a year (on-campus or virtually).
Health Transformation Research Institute
This team supports training for Dell Med researchers and learners conducting translational investigation, as well as the development of an integrated learning health system in which research is embedded in, drives and reinforces excellence in clinical, educational and community-focused missions.
Institutional Research and Analytics, College of Natural Sciences
The Office of Institutional Research and Analytics collaborates with researchers to design evaluation plans that are rigorous, trustworthy, and tailored to the needs of the program and/or grant. It provides expertise in designing data collection, analysis and reporting which supports program improvement and meets funder and stakeholder needs.
Statistics, Measurement, And Research design Techniques in Educational Research (SMARTER)
The Statistics, Measurement, And Research design Techniques in Educational Research (SMARTER) consulting office provides support for College of Education faculty and graduate students’ research design and quantitative analysis needs. SMARTER can help by discussing any aspect of a quantitative study, from the specific, such as choosing a statistical model to address a research question, interpreting the results of an analysis, conducting a power analysis, or suggesting or critiquing a research design, to the general, such as assisting with formulation of research questions and statistical hypotheses or serving as a sounding board for research ideas.
STEM Evaluation Services
Provides rigorous, high-quality research and evaluation services that are customized to best serve each project's unique needs. TACC evaluators collaborate with PIs, researchers, administrators, staff, and key stakeholders to help shape the evaluation, inform data collection methods, and effectively use findings for improving programs and demonstrating impacts.
Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) Education and Outreach
The Education and Outreach Directorate at the Texas Advanced Computing Center provides K-20 programming to address 21st-century workforce development needs. This includes STEM summer camps for middle school and high school students, research experiences for undergraduate students and educators, fellowships, internships, and public outreach.
