GeoFORCE Texas

GeoFORCE Texas develops the next generation of STEM workforce through participation in traveling in-person and virtual field academies. Students travel throughout the U.S. for 1 week in the summer for 4 consecutive years learning about geologically relevant field sites from experts in Earth science. Student recruitment is focused on 8th grade students, application is required for selection into the program, and participation is free.

GIS and Geospatial Data Services

The Libraries provides geographic information system (GIS) and geospatial data services for university faculty, students and staff across all disciplines and departments. We can help ensure that you have the software, data, technical training, and other resources you might need to successfully carry out any type of geospatial research project. Our goal is to facilitate geospatial research at the university by helping scholars overcome the technical challenges of working with geographic information in all phases of the research lifecycle.

Research Data Services

The UT Libraries Research Data Services team can provide assistance in all phases of the research lifecycle, from the earliest planning stages through to data dissemination and preservation. To help researchers follow data management best practices and comply with data management policies, we offer personalized project consultation meetings, online guides, skill building workshops, and support for resources like the Texas Data Repository and DMPTool.

Working with world-class inventors, investors, creators and entrepreneurs, Discovery to Impact launches startups and collaborate with established businesses to accelerate new products, services, solutions and cures.

UIDP - Strengthening University-Industry Partnerships

A solutions-oriented organization where members identify issues impacting university-industry (U-I) relations and opportunities to develop new approaches to working together. UT Austin is a member of UIDP and anyone at UT can participate and access resources on external engagement topics: research administration, sponsored research contracting, workforce development, corporate engagement

Public Interest Technology University Network (PIT-UN)

Public Interest Technology University Network (PIT-UN) is a collaboration of universities and colleges committed to developing curricula, research agendas, and experiential learning programs in public interest technology (PIT). PIT-UN helps advance the field of PIT and bring positive impact to communities around the globe by providing programming and funding for members to grow PIT on their campuses and communities.
