This nationally recognized series allows leading researchers from The University of Texas and other prominent universities to share their passion for science, technology, engineering and math with the general public. Events are held six times a year. Visit our website for the latest talk!

Lab for Immersive Media

The Lab for Immersive Media (LIM) is a high tech interactive and immersive media laboratory that enables novel research and entertainment experiences in virtual and physical space. A key goal of the LIM is to broaden research impact through partnerships, public engagement, and unique collaborations between art and science.

Living Learning Communities

Living Learning Communities (LLCs) are residential communities that introduce and integrate academic and social learning through faculty/staff involvement and holistic education. Students living in LLCs live together in the same area of a residence hall and share experiences that reinforce the theme of their LLCs. LLCs provide students and faculty opportunities for connection outside the classroom and support networking across common interests.

Longhorn Impact Fellowship

The Longhorn Impact Fellowship at Texas (LIFT) pairs student consultants with sustainable corporations, social enterprises, and non-profits to solve sustainability and impact-focused problems.

McNair Scholars

McNair Scholars is part of the federally funded TRIO programs administered by the U.S. Department of Education, and the only one primarily focused on students' postbaccalaureate success. McNair Scholars seek to increase the number of undergraduate students earning doctoral degrees who are low-income and first-generation. Participants must be serious and committed to enrolling in graduate programs with an end goal of completing a Ph.D. Students selected to participate in McNair Scholars work with both staff (on graduate school literacy) and a faculty mentor (on research and scholarship). Scholars define, develop, and deliver original, independent research projects.

Oden Institute Partnerships and Collaborations

The Oden Institute conducts interdisciplinary computing research that brings together foundational mathematical, statistical and computational elements with applications that cut across science, engineering, geosciences, and medicine. The Oden Institute has a vibrant culture of collaboration and welcomes the opportunity to engage in research partnerships with all sectors of society -- industry, academia, military and government.

Office of Community Engagement

The community engagement team in the Undergraduate College stewards sustainable relationships with local, regional, and statewide communities and organizations toward the goal of supporting mutual benefit for communities and the people of The University.

Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Dell Medical School

The Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Dell Medical School supports the people, programs, and opportunities that accelerate the translation of medical innovation to health care at scale. The office develops key programmatic initiatives and innovative entrepreneurial training within Dell Med and collaboratively across the University and Central Texas. The office also serves as an integral part of Health Starts Here, the strategic plan for The University of Texas Medical Center, anchored by Dell Med. The office empowers opportunities across research, education and clinical care to accelerate transformative innovation and entrepreneuership. Areas of focus include: 1. Catalyzing Health Innovations Through Strategic Programs, 2. Developing Innovative Training Opportunities for Talent Empowerment, 3. the NEXXUS Program, and 4. the Texas Health Catalyst Associate Program.

Office of Undergraduate Research

The Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) connect PIs with undergraduate research assistants through our student advising and our online database of faculty research interests and projects (https://eureka.utexas.edu). OUR hosts Summer Research Scholars programming to support the professional development of undergraduate researchers taking part in summer research programs (e.g., NSF REUs), and offers a variety of student research funding opportunities and research presentation events to further the work and development of student researchers.

RGK Center for Philanthropy and Community Service

The mission of the RGK Center for Philanthropy and Community Service is to prepare the next generation of nonprofit and philanthropic leaders. Through education and research, the RGK Center builds skills, generates new knowledge and collaborates with nonprofit organizations to inform policymakers and practitioners who have a passion for caring and resilient communities.
